A Workshop on The Green New Deal
As part of Grandmothers 4 a Green New Deal, Claire created a 90-minute, online, seminar about the Green New Deal. At the center of this small-group class is the 17-minute video, A Path Forward, which is broken into segments and interspersed with discussion, commentary and information.
This seminar takes a deep dive into the Green New Deal, a resolution in Congress calling for solutions to the climate crisis. It focuses on the connection between the planetary threat of climate change and the underlying issues of racial injustice and economic inequality. It also explores the phenomenon of youth leadership in the climate movement today. And it proposes ways in which seminar participants can step up their work on the climate emergency on the city state and local level.
