Program Summary: The plight of Salvadoran refugees is largely unknown, yet very close to home. This half-hour program documents the stories of individuals who have fled American-backed death squads in El Salvador to face a different kind of dislocation as undocumented aliens in the U.S. Here they are refused asylum, as this would acknowledge our complicity in the atrocities they escaped. A group of American church members defy the law to give sanctuary to these refugees, putting themselves at risk as well.
