Are You Listening?
(1984) 7-minute radio segment about cerebral palsy. Broadcast by KPFA-FM.
Claire Schoen: Producer, sound record/edit/designer
Fine Line Productions: Executive Producer
Program Summary: We are surrounded by talk. So much so, that our dependence on words to communicate with others is largely taken for granted. Steve Hofmann, who has cerebral palsy, is very aware of the importance of speech. While Steve is perfectly intelligent, his slurred and slow speech greatly impacts his life. In this short audio feature, the listener is forced to pay attention and to listen carefully… as Steve explains that his biggest obstacle is people’s impatience.
